Emirates Flight Attendant Interview Experience

I recently attended in an assessment Day of Emirates. This was my first time ever doing an assessment day.

Emirates CV drop off:
First day 9 am sharp, one recruiter came and told us to take a place in the room. She explained that she first wanted us to fill in a paper and give her our Resume and letter we had received by email. I think we were about 120 people.
I do think in this first part it is very important to give a good first impression. Your CV must be perfect, phrases such as education title and the name of your work position must stand out.

Emirates Airline Overview:
Then the introductory briefing began. She explained us the positive and she insisted on the negative side of the work. She said, she is not there to promote this career, they have more then enough candidates a month who apply more than one million.

Emirates Selection Process Cabin Crew:
Then we all went outside. There was meal outside as well. We had to wait about 35-40 minutes before she came out with the results on a piece of paper.
We came back in the room and all the chairs were placed in one big circle. We had to sit-down according to our numbers. Preliminary group session began. We had to work with the person next to us. Each group got a piece of paper with an object on it, mine was an eye-shade. We had to creative, find new ways how to use this object. Each one of us had to present one idea in front of everybody.
Stay calm and try to communicate like you always do with your friends and don't interrupt. It is the way you interact with others. And don't forget to smile.
After this exercise, we did an other one. This time in groups on 3. Each group got a paper with a destination on it. We had to promote the destination with one only idea. Our destination was Nairobi
So we promoted the Safari.
Again we all went outside. And waited about 45 minutes to get the results. At this stage there were about 16 people left. We were divided into two groups. First group went into the room again, the other group had to wait outside. We did another group activity We were 7, each one of us got a paper we all were managers of a cruise ship company, there was a problem in the system, there are only two rooms left, but we had 8 customers. We all had to discuss what we could do, and who from the 8 customers we would choose. This exercise was difficult, there were girls who were to dominant, and it was difficult to say something. In this exercise it is important to listen to others, do not interrupt again. That was what I did, even thought I only said two big lines, I thought about it carefully before saying it. Do not speak just to speak. At the end there was a role play with the recruiter.
The other group went in, and had a similar exercise. We waited 40 minutes. Once the other group was done, we waited another 30 minutes. The recruiter announced the results. I was selected again.
Now we were with 8 people And we had an English test.
The English test was a one hour test. It is a long test, even if it's one hour and you have to be quick.
Only one girl got eliminated, seven went through. We got into the room and got some paper work to do. And it was while we were doing the paper work that we understood that we got to the FI.
We also got our homework to do, fill out different documents and then do a psychometric test that only takes about 10-15 minutes.
Final Interview with Emirates Recruitment Officer:
All candidates had one hour interview. She asked me a lot about work experience.
For example :
• Why do you want to be a flight attendant ?
• Give me an example of a time when work was challenging with other people of your work ?
• Tell me about a time when work was difficult because of a colleague ?
• Tell me about a time when you did a great job, something you're proud of ?
• Do you find it difficult to work with other people from other countries and nationalities ?
This interview took about one hour and 20 minutes.
I understood from this FI that Emirates were searching for people with work experience in customer service.

Points to remember in Emirates Interview :
• Make a good Resume/CV.
• When you go to your Open day or Assessment Day, go in a good business attire. Girls put on some make up and attach your hair in a bun.
• SMILE
• Be enthusiastic while doing your group exercises.
• Don't interrupt people while they are talking.
• Listen to others and only speak if needed.
